死亡颂歌硬核（Deathchant Hardcore）作为一种粗粝激烈的Rave风格，于1990年代末至2000年代初在英国兴起。该流派由Hellfish及其英国Deathchant Records唱片公司的制作人团队开创并推广，其中包括The DJ Producer和Diplomat等核心人物，他们长期主导着该音乐形态的发展。死亡颂歌硬核最初作为1990年代末荷兰硬核（ Hardcore [EDM]）的高速激进变体出现，融合了英国Rave元素，显著的 Gabber风格与碎拍硬核（Breakbeat Hardcore）充沛密集的节奏交织，频繁运用嘻哈（ Hip Hop）采样及刮碟等唱盘效果，有时与法核（Frenchcore）风格相近。
